True Things

True Things

In this blogpost, we focus on the determination to keep our minds focused on true things. As Kingdom Citizens, when we remain grounded in this truth, we stand firm—no matter what we face. We already have victory.

This truth is found in Scripture. First and foremost, Scripture itself is true.

John 17:17 (GNB) states "Your word is truth."

When people ask the question, "How do you know?" Kingdom Citizens respond with a personal testimony that aligns with Scripture. They have seen God’s Word in action, experienced His faithfulness, and applied it in their lives.

A Personal Testimony of Victory

For me, victory came in a season when I didn't have a place to live. I trusted God for provision, but before He could bring me into the new season, He had to set me apart for self-reflection and bring me back to an assignment with influence I once thought I had failed.

When I surrendered to His plan, opportunities unfolded that include:
✅ New territory
✅ A new home in a new location
✅ New assignments where I could serve others
✅ Opportunities to use my gifts as people sought me out
✅ Elimination of things and relationships that no longer aligned with my purpose

Through it all, I remained quiet and did not complain, even as others voiced their opinions. But only God’s plan prevails in Scripture.

Proverbs 19:21 (GNB) states – "People may plan all kinds of things, but the Lord's will is going to be done."

Scriptures Answering the Key Questions of Victory

1.  What is victory?
1 Corinthians 15:57 (GNB) states "But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!" Victory is the triumph we have in Jesus Christ over sin, fear, and every challenge we face in life. Victory is about overcoming battle and living with the assurance of God’s power, promises, and presence in our lives.

2️. Who has victory? 1 John 5:4 (GNB) states "For every child of God is able to defeat the world. And we win the victory over the world by means of our faith."

3️. Why is victory the truth? Romans 8:37 (GNB) states "No, in all these things we have complete victory through him who loved us!" Victory belongs to every Kingdom Citizen as overcomers because we belong to God.

4. When do I receive victory? 2 Corinthians 2:14 (GNB) states "But thanks be to God! For in union with Christ we are always led by God as prisoners in Christ's victory procession." We receive victory the moment we accept Jesus as our Savior.  This is when we step into a life of continual triumph because of who He is.

5. How do I receive victory—The Application?
James 1:12 (GNB) states "Happy is the person who remains faithful under trials, because when he succeeds in passing such a test, he will receive as his reward the life which God has promised to those who love him." Here’s three ways to receive victory: we walk in victory by standing firm in faith, enduring trials, and trusting in God’s promises.

Building on a Solid Foundation

Our Father in Heaven is our solid foundation. What you believe to be true will shape how you live. Each day is filled with what you have determined in your mind to be true.

That’s why it’s essential to evaluate with a quick checklist:
✔️ What thoughts are covering your mind?
✔️ Are your thoughts valid, life-giving, and aligned with God’s truth?
✔️ Are your thoughts positive or negative, transformational or stagnant?
✔️ Are your thoughts  nourishing your spirit, or are they toxic?

What we feed our minds determines the health of our core being.

Philippians 4:8 (GNB) states "Fill your minds with those things that are good and that deserve praise: things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and honorable."

Every day, as we live in the Kingdom of God on earth, we are given our daily bread (Matthew 6:11). It is up to Kingdom Citizens to consume what nourishes us and reject what weakens us.

Victory’s Connection to Peace

When we truly believe and walk in victory, we experience peace that surpasses understanding. Victory is about overcoming battles and living from a place of assurance, security, and faith in God’s eternal truth. Philippians 4:7 (GNB) states "His peace will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with Christ Jesus."

Daily Applications: Walking in Victory Every Day

🌟 Start Your Day with Truth
🔹 Before reach and read a Scripture about victory (such as 1 John 5:4 or Romans 8:37).
🔹 Pray and declare: “I am victorious in Christ today, no matter what comes my way.”

🌟 Align Your Thoughts with God’s Word
🔹 If a negative thought comes, replace it with truth.
🔹 For example: When worry arises, declare Matthew 6:33 (GNB) states "Instead, be concerned above everything else with the Kingdom of God and what He requires of you, and he will provide you with all these other things.”

🌟 Speak Victory Over Your Circumstances
🔹 Instead of saying, “I don’t know how I’ll make it,” say, "I am grateful My Father, My Lord has already made a way for me."
🔹 For example: Declare Philippians 4:13 (GNB) states "I have the strength to face all conditions by the power that Christ gives me."

🌟 Recognize & Celebrate Small Wins
🔹 Each step of progress is a sign of God’s faithfulness.
🔹 Journal your victories.

🌟 Encourage Others in Their Victory
🔹 Text, call, or write to someone with an encouraging word.
🔹 Share your testimony of God’s faithfulness.
